This sculpture has two different energies. Your first impression is the hot energy of a powerful fire sweeping up through the curvature of the stone culminating in pinnacle of the flame. The energy flows through it, burning but alluring, drawing you inwards. The more subtle energy underlies the powerful one, sensuous and curvy, evoking a warmly maternal figure of a woman carrying a baby. The colour and the shape are fluid and flow with your gaze, looking back at you.
Reminiscent of a waterfall, this sculpture does not have one defined focal point, allowing the viewer to interpret it as they wish. From one perspective, a waterfall cascades over the edge of the water table falling downward. The light colors represent the water and the dark ones represent the underlying stone foundation of the waterfall. The negative space, interesting and shapely form bring a beautiful flow to the piece.
